We only have one store where I live that allows self check out. I only go in that line if I don't have produce. I've never figured out how to do the produce.

Do you have self checkouts in your local stores?

The produce is part of the fun!

You get to find the little pictures. Then push the buttons. Then call the cashier over because you aren't sure what kind of tomatoes or pimentos or bananas or plaintains you bought and the numbers make no sense.

Or better yet, let your kid push the buttons. CHILDREN LOVE PUSHING BUTTONS!

ROFL. Janet you are too funny.

I go to the store way too much. I never know what I'm making until it's time to make it. How on earth can I know at 8am what I want for dinner at 6pm? So, if I'm just getting a few items I check myself out, but if I have a basketful or the produce, I get in line.

I am learning to do the self check-out too. I find it to be very fun at Meijer's when there is a good deal going on. I am not as fast as the checkers, but am learning.

Our Kmart had a self-checker for about 6 months. It was quickly removed, I suspect, due to a lot of items not being scanned.


eta: I liked it while it was there because I was a cashier once & sometimes I can scan things quicker than the young cashiers
