Default Ground Turkey?

Does anyone have a good recipe using ground turkey? We usually make turkey burgers, but we don't have any bread . . . I need to go to the store

What other things can I do with it? I was thinking maybe some sort of pasta dish but I don't know!

Thanks

You can do anythng with turkey that you would do with ground beef. Spagehetti and meatballs? Tacos?

My favorite thing to make with Ground Turkey meat is taco-like meat. Basically I take the meat, add tomato sauce and tomato paste, season it with whatever I feel like from pepper, garlic, cilantro, all in a pan and cook it.

Depending on what I feel like eating, is how I eat it. On a Taco, just with nacho chips, with nothing, with salsa, sour cream, and guacamole.

I also make turkey meatballs and turkey meatloaf. I hope this helps a little.

Thanks for the info! I made pasta with a meatsauce with the ground turkey. It tasted exactly like beef, but it wasn't as greasy. It was really good . . .I'llhave to try the tacos next time!

I actually substitute turkey for almost every recipie that asks for beef. I think its a healthier option, and I've never been much of a red meat fan.

Just about any recipe that calls for beef can use ground turkey. Stuffed peppers with ground turkey are great!

I make this really simple & yummy dish w/ ground turkey. You brown it up, drain it, add butter or marg., milk, and some beef bouilion cubes. Stir it up and let it simmer. Then mix up a little corn starch & water and add it to it to thicken up the gravy. I serve this over mashed potatoes and my family loves it. It's a "feel good" meal! My Mom gave me this recipe. It's her version of S.O.S..

Here are three recipes I got off a website awhile back. I have no idea where, but I've made the first two. We don't really love chili at our house so I haven't tried the chili.
Ground Turkey Meatball Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey
1 egg
2 cloves of garlic finely chopped
2 tablespoons finely chopped parsley
1/3 cup onion finely chopped
½ cup plain breadcrumbs
1 8 ounce can of diced tomatoes (drain off some of excess juice)
1 4 ounce can of tomato sauce
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
4 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Bread of choice or noodles (rolls or other hard buns are great for this recipe)

In a large bowl mix together turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, parsley, and garlic. Allow to rest in refrigerator for one hour. This helps the flavor distribute throughout the meat. Form meatballs just smaller than a ping pong ball. Using a nonstick pan, brown meatballs and remove from pan. Add onion and cook until they become translucent. Stir in the remaining ingredients and add back meatballs simmering for 20 minutes. Serve meatballs with sauce on bread or noodles. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.

Taco Ground Turkey Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey
½ cup diced tomato
1 medium onion chopped
1 clove garlic chopped
2 teaspoons ground cumin
1 teaspoon oregano
1 large chipotle pepper chopped
¼ cup chopped cilantro
Taco shells
2 teaspoons vegetable oil
lettuce
taco sauce
grated cheese
sour cream

In large pan brown onion and ground turkey. After browned add garlic, oregano, cumin, tomato, cilantro, and chipotle pepper. Simmer on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Serve in taco shells with lettuce, cheese, sauce and sour cream.

Ground Turkey Recipe - Chili
Ingredients
1 pound ground turkey
1 large onion chopped
1 cup tomato sauce
2 cans of drained diced tomatoes
1 cup water
5 teaspoons chili powder
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper to taste
½ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon allspice
¼ teaspoon red pepper

Brown turkey and onions. Add the remaining ingredients and stir. Simmer for 45 minutes or until chili has begun to thicken.
