Hello ladies, I had my day 10 scan today to see what progress i am making this month. History is just had first lot of clomid, 50 dose from day 2 to 6, and the dr said he can see one follicle on my left side measuring 9mm. As I am only on day 10 and usually O anywhere between day 14 to 16 or nearabouts, is this what I would have expected to see for day 10? Is it normal to see only one small folly at day 10, does it just mean I am not so close to Ovulating yet? and I need a few more days to see something bigger.

He said he would usually like to see a bigger follicle and thicker lining at this stage of the cycle but maybe it is just my body and/or clomid. Would should I expect to see and wouldn't the clomid make a difference?

Today is Wed, I am having blood tests for hormones on Frid and Mon and then back to see him Tuesday morn for another scan, hopefully I haven't O by then because I really want to have the iui done. But I was wondering if the scan shows I am Ovulating then, would I have the iui done right away or would it be too late. What do you ladies think?

I had my monthly follicle scan today. I am on CD 16. I had one dominant follicle on my lt ovary and it measured 2.1cm. They have to be over 2cm in order to trigger ovulation. So, I got to get my trigger (hcg) injection today!! I haven't been able to do that since March, so I was very excited!! Last month was horrible, I had low estrogen and small follicles. Now, today on CD16 I had tons of smaller follicles mearusring 1cm or bigger on my right ovary, but only that one dominant one on the left. I am not sure how much they grow each day...but I think they recommend doing another scan two days later. It obviously takes them a little longer to grow. If you go back on Monday I think you will have a clearer picture of what is happening. I hope that you get that dominant follicle!! I think the estrogen levels from your bloodwork are going to be a major vision of what your cycle is doing this month too! My estrogen levels were awesome this month...I had mine ran on CD 14 and they were 376!!

Every women is different but anything over 10mm is good! Anything between 13-22mm will produce an egg! I've had one follicle may may times and it is normal! They usually will grow 1-2mm a day so by day 15-16 you should be about in "O" range! As for the thin lining that is b/c of the clomid. Clomid makes your lining a little thin but if your Dr. is that worried about that then there are things (a certain cream) he can give you to make it thicker! Most Dr.'s can guess (and fairly close) about the time the egg will be close to "O". If you are doing an HCG shot to trigger "O" then the IUI will be 36-48 hrs after you take the shot. If you don't have a shot then they will check your blood to see when you "O" and then have the IUI 24hrs later. It is very rare that the Dr. will miss when you "O"! GOOD LUCK!
