He could wear glow in the dark teeth, you could put the eddie Munster hair line on him, no blood, if it were me, and it sounds like you think that blood would be a bit much. And he could make his face white, and wear a cape. It doesn't have to be disgusting. That way he gets to be what he wants, and he doesn't look really grows.
