You're a good seamstress. But please, no selling in the forums.

My son was an angel his first toddler Halloween. I had so much fun making his wings, and his costume out of an old kimono he had almost outgrown. I usually made their costumes, or recycled the old ones and redesigned stuff. That's how the dog costume became a bunny costume, and odds and ends plus lots of putty and spirit gum produced a Klingon that won a costume prize, and how my baby became an alligator. And the year I made a star trek officers costume for a five year old whose pal wore a cardboard box and was a television. They trick or treated together, proclaiming "I'm on television" and "I AM Television"

Then there were the years they had their own ideas. Putting on a sweatshirt and beads, turning the cap backwards and going as a rapper. The one year the youngest decided he was going to be "government man" so he put on a suit and sunglasses. People felt sorry for him, all dressed up and no time to get a costume. He was so mad that they didn't see that he was government man! Probably the worst idea was the coat hanger and garbage bag that were supposed to be a space alien. The last Halloween costume was a sheet with a bunch of leaves made into a wreath and a cardboard sword. Apparently he was Emperor Justinian. That was sixth grade. They were studying the holy roman empire, and he decided he liked Emperor Justinian so he went around on Halloween dressed like him.

It's such a creative holiday, and the best is yet to come for you all!!!

Mcmama, I always love your stories about your boys! How funny that nobody "got" the government man costume! Was that before the Men In Black movies?
