Hopefully we don't have to post pone it b/c mom and dad both are sort of under the weather at the moment and my aunt who is battling cancer cannot be around anybody who is sick... however.....The plan is for my kids and DH, my sister and nephew, my aunt and younger brother (22) and my parents (I don't think my other aunt and uncle are coming this year) to have the full on turkey dinner at my parents' place on Sunday...Roast turkey, mashed potatoes, bread/sausage stuffing, mashed turnips/carrots with lots of butter and brown sugar...mixed veg...gravy...cranberry sauce...vino ( )...Pumpkin pie, apple pie, whipped cream and ice cream for dessert.....My mom usually has the house decorated nicely although right now they are in the throws of redoing the floors in the dining room and kitchen so some things may be in a bit of a mess....but the wonderful aroma of the roasting turkey will prevail...mess or no mess!!
We usually go around the table and say something we are thankful for while we eat dinner....and although there have been some major bumps along the way this year...I know we will all have something that we are grateful for to share...First and foremost that we will be altogether....Biggest change this year though...Nana will be missing from the dinner table but she will be with us in spirit...right Nan!! Thanks for asking Angie...

We're heading to DH's hometown -- spending time at the cabin, visiting the family, big freakin' turkey dinner with everyone lol. I adore DH's family and am sooo looking forward to seeing them. Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

This is very similar to our American Thanksgiving too.
Best part is being with family and people you love.
Plus, the pumpkin pie and whipped cream is yummy too.

Turkey, salt beef, dressing, cabbage, peas pudding, turnip, potatoes, carrot, dough boys, molasses pudding, corn, beans, buns and gravy are on the menu here. It was supposed to be my turn to cook it but I conveniently got out of it and now my sister is going to! Haha.
