Default hardcore screaming...ideas?

Aiden had a really bad night last night (as did we). He was really hard to get to sleep, and then he kept waking up all night long crying his heart out (I mean screaming crying). It wasn't a mad cry, and it didn't really seem to be a pain cry - almost like he was horribly upset by something and could just not calm down. Aaron and I took turns getting him back to sleep, but let me tell you it was not easy. He wouldn't nurse; he didn't want to be bounced in the cradle-hold position with me sitting down (the way I normally put him to sleep). The best thing I found to quiet him down was to stand up and sway, but that gets tiring fast (especially at 4:30 in the morning). Aaron finally had luck getting him to sleep on his chest (kind of leaning on the arm of the couch) and then I switched out with him early this morning, and Aiden finished up the night on my chest. I really don't know what the problem was. Aiden was awake when he was crying so I don't think it was night terrors. He wasn't pulling at his ears. He didn't seem gassy (although I gave him simethicone just in case that was the problem). I can't figure out what the problem was. He's been fine ever since waking up this morning (8ish).

Any ideas? Aaron will be heading back to Dallas this afternoon, and I definitely don't want a repeat tonight when I will be here with the kids alone.

Ellamae did that one night and then the next day I noticed she had a tooth! Could he be teething?

Default I agree

It really does sound like teeth. Any teething signs?
I would try tylenol if it happens again tonight.

He has his bottom two middle teeth already. From what I can see there are no signs of the top ones, but maybe they are bothering him although I can't see them yet.

Whatever the case is, he went to sleep relatively easy tonight. We'll see how the rest of the night goes.
