Default Has your relationship ever suffered a stalker?

In 2 recent articles I wrote about times Wayne and I have dealt with stalker-types in our relationship. (Click here and here to read them if you're interested.)

I wondered how many of you had run into such dilemmas so I thought it'd be fun to create a poll. Or leave a reply explaining the situation if you want.

No, but when I read the poll option, "I've been a stalker!" I lol'd.

I was being stalked when I first met my husband, but we weren't really 'together' at the time - we actually started going out for drinks as friends because I was so eager to just be out, anywhere away from where my stalker would be. I guess I have my stalker to thank for that now

My stalker was someone I met online, and then went to a meet for users of a particular web site. He was a perfectly 'normal' person on the surface, and when there was another meet on my side of the country, I let him and a few other people stay at my house because I trusted them. Big mistake - he moved up to the area to study at uni, and started showing up outside my house, emailing, phoning, writing letters - he even showed up at my place of work once!

Thankfully it only lasted a few months - he was doing it to someone else too, and I gather they called the police - that must have scared him back to half normality :/

Spooky, Etali! Glad it wasn't too serious and in fact had a happily ever after sort of ending.

(And MissyChrissy, I just now saw yours...HAHAHA Glad that made you chuckle. )

My ex stalked me during our divorce. He was "gathering evidence".

Actually he was trying to intimidate me while pretending to be well intentioned, fumbling, bumbling, foolish and loveable.

Passive aggressive behavior. I could write an encyclopedia on it.

Janet,

Even when you write about serious things, you have a marvelous way of adding levity to it. Sorry you went through this...but perhaps you will get a book from it!
