I sat down and started comparing the cost of my "Bundle" from Comcast. It was costing me nearly $180 a month to maintain the services that my family and desired. After carefully reviewing everything, I realized that I could save by breaking it up and utilizing services from a number of different providers.
First off, I got DirecTV with the same programming package I had with Comcast. I was even able to add a DVR to my bedroom and my son's bedroom. This costs me $55 a month.

Then I subscribed to AT&T High-Speed DSL. $45 a month

And I got digital phone service to replace my home phone. $30 a month.

So I went from paying $180 a month to $130 a month.

We have Verizon FIOS which we love and we have their bundle, Phone,Net,TV and are paying $99 a month!

I called to cancel some of their services when we were paying about $160 mo and the person suggested we downgrade to the $99 bundle.

The real problem that the costs skyrocket are all those outrageous additional fees, taxes etc that everyone is milking the cable companies for its not the bundles whether its AT&T, Verizon etc its the darn other fees.
