Nowadays, much of the family time is spent around a television set or in the car to some happening. Although this is acceptable family time, there are other options of spending value time with your family. You can spend together in a family bicycle ride. Or other sports that all of the family member can join. You can also have a home improvement projects, like planting vegetables, or flower garden. If not why not try teaching your kids how to bake a cake this summer, I know all of this will give your child a happy family time together.

I agree Heidi, its so important to put time aside to spend quality family time together.

I hope you don't mind me posting this here, but thought I'd share the idea of creating a bag garden as a great activity to do together. I work with Send A Cow and we've been helping farmers in Africa and encouraging people to make bag gardens at home.

A bag garden is a type of vegetable garden which allows you to grow a lot on a small space, on the top and side of a bag. You can find more about bag gardens here. They're very cost effective and should produce some very yummy veggies, so you can cook great dishes from your own garden produce.

I have read about the "gardens in a bag" that are being used in Africa to help families grow their own food. What a cool idea! Thanks for sharing the links!

We take our kids out (weather provided) once a week or so Geocaching. Gets them away from electronics, and outside. You can check it out online. It's free to sign up. The only real inital expense is purchasing a hand held GPS. After that all it cost you is your time. Great exercise, and lots of laughs spending time with the family.

Wow that sounds great! Thank you for sharing! I try to get away from electronics as much as possible, leaving the mobile at home! That's why I love gardening so much!

Yes! I agree with that absolutely... I always see to it that we can have time with my family..Well I know it's not that difficult for me for I have only one daughter and I am a full time mom. but I we all have to spare an hour or two with our family.

I agree that doing things together as a family is so important. Finding some family leisure time is essential for bonding with your family. When I was growing up, we did some great fun things like camping, bike riding, or even planning a day trip to the park. I hope this gives you some new ideas.
