Default Have you considered adoption?

I am wondering how many of you have considered adopting a child, but have decided not to, or at least not to pursue it right now. What made you decide it wasn't the right thing for your family? What might make you consider it again?

I am trying to learn more about what motivates people to adopt or not to adopt, so this is kind of a research thread.

Default CPS took a family members children

So I really wanted to adopt one or more, but at the same time I was getting married to a man whose children were grown. My husband didn't really want to have another set of children to raise. He did agree to check into it with me. We got the run around from CPS because they had placed the kids in homes and didn't want to consider alternatives. Also, the clincher came from the parents being involved in family events and were really manipulative in their behavior.
