My hcg on Oct. 22, was 200, which was down from 206 before. My m/c started on Oct. 29th. I didn't go get bloodwork that week b/c I just didn't want to deal w/ dr's office waiting room w/ the new mom's and babies and women delightfully further alone in pregnancy. So I went Mon, Nov 5 , when m/c was basically done. I'm just barely spotting again. HCG was at 95! Last m/c hcg dropped substantially right away after m/c began. The high hcg did maybe explain why I'd had some breast pain in recent days. Nurse called yesterday to see if I'd started m/c (yeah I didn't call either). I told her I had bled for a week w/ clots, but it was less than a period overall. She was supposed to consult w/ dr. and call today. Which they didn't. I stayed home nearly all day waiting.

Is this something to worry about? I know it was an earlier m/c than #3 (so not as much to pass), but m/c #1 was even an earlier m/c and had a lot more clots. But I didn't spot for 2 weeks w/ #1and #3 like this one. I've had no abdominal cramping, except for the reg. IBS bout pains, for at least 5 days. Spotting is almost nonexistent now, and what little is mostly brown. I've had lower and upper back painfor maybe 3 or 4 days. But I was moving stuff and bending over more than I had lately. I'm worried maybe not everything came out. Our insurance doesn't cover 100% of procedures/bloodwork. So I really don't want to have a d&c. Is that the only option if not everything came out?? We will be seeing the RE Nov 20th, w/ lots of tests to pay for w/ that I'm sure.

I've spent the last month spotting and bleeding. I do just want this all to be over. It's the m/c that just won't end....it just goes on and on.

well, i would first suggest to monitor yourself for any signs of infection. also, i would call the doctor and explain what you told us. it is not a stupid question and you have every right to ask it. so sorry you are going through this, i know this is so hard. ((((hugs))))

With my m/c I had to have 2 d&c's. After that I had to go back for bloodwork to monitor my hcg levels. The d&c does not automatically decrease your levels. Your body does that naturally.

I did call Dr.'s office today. My dr and her nurse are off on Fridays. Which makes you wonder, if you know you're off the next day, wouldn't you make sure that you get all your call backs done that day?? The another nurse was looking up my chart to see what the dr. had told my nurse, Lori. From the notes, she didn't consult the dr. yesterday. The notes were from BEFORE she talked to me Wed. It didn't even sound like she'd written down what I told her I was experiencing. I wouldn't be worried as much if Lori hadn't sounded worried.

Still no cramping or pain (except IBS), except for my lower and upper back. Spotting stopped for awhile but returned light and brownish mostly. I wonder if the spotting will ever end. I have a bad sinus infection, which I tend to get after m/cs, which is zapping me.

What signs of infection should I look for? I don't have a fever, urination pain or high frequency.

The other dr's nurse just called. She thinks I should be okay. I'll just repeat hcg on Mon.

I guess considering how this m/c has differed w/ ths spotting, I shouldn't be surprised if hcg levels are weird, too. I just hope product isn't left up there.

I know mine took quite some time to drop after my m/c; it also took a while for the bleeding to finally stop, but there weren't any problems other than things being a nuisance. Hopefully things will settle down for you soon.

I'm spotting bright red again every wipe today. Something isn't right, I'm afraid. I'm suspicious about having product left up there because the following which all are signs of not everything coming out properly.
1) m/c w/ clotting was less than a reg period, let alone much less than my other m/cs expelled at home.
2)the prolonged bleeding/spotting
3)slowly decreasing hcg


I know a d&c won't automatically decrease hcg. I'm not worried about a d&c b/c of the hcg #. I might have to have one b/c of pregnancy product left inside me that needs to come out. The hcg tests going very slowly after a m/c help spot when product might still in there. Cycles won't return until stuffs out, not to mention possible infection.

I'm hoping maybe the new bleeding might lead to expelling the rest this weekend. Does that happen where you have 2 bouts of bleeding, clots? Or am I just foolishly hopeful?

Thanks for the support everyone. It means alot. I wouldn't have dreamed that my fourth m/c would be such a pain---well physically at least. Emotionally this is the hardest by far b/c of all the changes i made in my life that still didn't help. But physically, I thought I knew more of what to expect. M/cs all are different, too, like every pregnancy and child.

With my 2nd m/c the same thing happened. I didn't end up needing a d&c because the rest was expelled in the second bout of bleeding but I would def call your doctor about this. You don't want to end up sick from an infection. Also, just as an fyi... if an infection does start to occur it may feel like you are getting the flu, so just be sure to watch for the symptoms. Sorry about your loss....

Got results from Mon bw---hcg went UP from 95 to 140!! A week was inbetween my tests. What the....?? Dr suspects lab error, so I go back for more bw tomorrow. Still spotting pink to brown... In my 5th week of spotting... No signs of infection yet.


Does anyone know the theme song from Sherry Lewis's last kids series (was on PBS?)? The song just keeps looping back to its beginning. I had just taught this song to ds last month. It is one of those songs that can drive you crazy in your head. "THis is the song that never ends. It just goes on and on my friends. Some people started singing it not knowing what it was. And we'll continue singing it forever just b/c...this is the song that never ends....." .

Well, I've started singing, "This is the m/c that never ends. It just goes on and on my friends. I started spotting one day not knowing what it was, I continue spotting forever just b/c...this is the m/c that never it ends. It just goes on and on my friends...." DH laughed at me when I sang it to him. Yeah, I have a twisted sense of humor.
