Default Help! I'm teaching a class!

I'm a video editor (as my day job). Wednesdys I am going to start teaching a "Movie Making" class at a local afterschool program. I'll have the kids for an hour one day a week, and by June 9th they should have a movie.

So, I think I'm going to have them write their own little movie. I was thinking about coming up with a theme like "My last summer vacation" and getting them to break up in groups (I'll have 12 kids). each group can write their own little scene and then they ca act it out the next week.

Anyone have any ideas for this one? 12 kids making a movie seems like a serious undertaking. I could use all the suggestons i can get.
