Unhappy help in communicating needs

My husband and I have been married for 16 years with two children. I have voiced my need for help around the house since we both work full for sometime now. My husband gets frustrated with me because I am always so tried. Between working full time, kids and the household chores I am exhausted. There are nights he does start dinner but for the most part it is left up to me along with the clean up. What can I do or say that will get him motivated to help out more. He tells me all of the time honey need to relax...but if I relax nothing gets done. I don't want to sound like a whiner but my day starts at 4:30am and get the kids off to school, some laundry and myself off to work then come home to cook dinner, dishes, some more laundry and normal day activities with the kids/family.... ANY SUGGESTIONS.....

You both need to have a sit down discussion on your concerns and needs from each other. He probably doens't realizie how this is effecting you. You then need to take a break and go somewhere. Just the two of you. It could be something simple like camping etc...

I agree. Discussing all your concerns and needs from each other is a good idea. Both of you are needed a break. I wish you all the best.

i agree too. you need to sit down and really discuss how each of you feel, and tell him how you are feeling, it may really be okay with him if things are a bit of a mess. i love to have the house clean for my husband when he comes home, but sometimes, after a day with the 2 kids, the house is a mess, and he does say "its okay" and i know its really okay.

That's right. It maybe okay with him if things are a bit of a mess. Sometimes it's hard to maintain things always in good order even if you want to.

I would rather have a bit messy house than a messy marriage. Work hand in hand
