Default Here we go again manager refused my cous

i got some trial sizes and the manager tells me that they are not good on the item because they beeped and i said it's because the parent codes don't match and manager still refused so i said call 1 800 shop cvs and the manager told me no so i said that the item is good for it and call them again and again the manager told me no and tried to hand them back. I refused and so the manager says i should go call them, she refuses to take them or override them. then she tells someone else that even though the coupon said any size, they are not good on that size because they beeped. whatever how dumb can some people be. the other manager decides to ring them in and told me that they will take them 'just this once'. Um dummy if your told according to you that you cannot override, why would you do it 'just this one time'. They must have lost common sense when they came out the birth canal. I even said to the one who did ring them in that i offered the other manager to call CVS but that manager refused and of course he remained silent about that. They claim corporate told them not to override. Huh? so i guess they lied to me when they told me they are supposed to.

I think that they make up the rules as they go along, maybe they even have bets with other managers to see how many customers will fall for their new "rules". You would think that the money was coming out of their own pocket with the way they treat people using OH GOD COUPONS!!! I just wonder whatever happened to THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT?????

At my closest CVS(and one that always has more of the deal merchandise) the cashiers are now saying they will only take CVS coupons including EBs less than a month old, and no expired manuf. coupons. One of them said that it was up to the manager of each store what the policy is for that store, and this manager has decided to do it like that.
I had a problem at this store with a return. I accidentally picked up a Sudacare product that was not on clearance and paid $6.99 instead of $2.17. I usually watch the prices, but that day it got by me as I had bought another one correctly (children's) and I just didn't notice the higher price. When I went back about a week later (with the receipt) I explained what happened and that I would buy another children's for $2.17 if I got the credit or refund on the other one. The cashier said the register would only give me $3 or so because that's all I had paid oop (I used a $15 EB). I said just ring it up as if I had no receipt as that is what others do when this has come up before. She didn't want to, kept saying that the store would be losing money and that I hadn't really paid that much for it. I said the store would be selling it at the higher price, and that I would not have used that high of an EB if I hadn't bought that product. I had other lower EBs that I would have used and it's like cash to me. She finally reluctantly did it, but now there's another cashier that I will want to avoid as I am probably on her "problem customer" list.
Now when I shop at that CVS the manager tries to wait on me because she says "I always have problems." I love saving money but I hate to have this stigma on me. Like Colegirl and others have noted, they act like we are doing something wrong when we use coupons, EBs, etc and pay so little oop. And then if we get more EBs on that order, that makes it even worse!!

What was the product? Sometimes it just beeps because the item is 99c and the coupon $1. Usually, if that's the case and they change the coupon value, it goes through without beeping.

no it actually was the 'parent code' issue and even the CSR said it should have been adjusted down to the price.

Oh, okay. So the two sizes of the same product had different parent codes? How odd!

So, no matter what size product you would purchase, coupon would still beep?

If that was the case, I'd bring the biggest bottle of the product,
and then it would beep. What would the manager say to that?

I think they can do whatever they want. I made friends with an older woman that works at my CVS late at night, when I get off work and she uses every single coupon I have. I never asked her to do it, but she even uses the ones that are for internet only, I always save like 40-50 bucks, when she's there. I hope she doesn't get fired.

bigger bottles do match however in their training manual (straight from a shift supervisor) they are already aware of the 'parent code' issue and it says that there are times that the cou wont scan because the codes dont match even tho the customer has the product. like the aussie and excedrin cous.

I hate it when those Excedrin coupons beep! I never could figure out why, though!
