Default homeschool slippery slope?

Have you guys heard about this? What are your thoughts? I'm especially interested in hearing from those of you that homeschool.

On a side note - I really hate the changes that were done to this site. In fact, I don't even get on as much as I did because I hate it so much. I have a very hard time navigating, and I'm so sick of pop-ups! I wanted to post about this article in the homeschool forum, but I can't find it. Feel free to move it if the forum still exists.

This is disgusting. Who is a government to decide that her vigorous defense of her faith means she needs to be exposed to other ideas?

Homeschoolers should be supported so that they have the same opportunities as children enrolled in schools to participate in teams, community activities, sports, ensembles, and so on. But as long as the instruction meets the educational standard, they should not have an ideology forced on them. The only way that the government would have an interest in the ideology of home schoolers would be if the parents were using home schooling to teach terrorism and sedition.

Hmm, what's next? I'll have to take mine out of Catholic school? They are learning one religion. This is BS.

Absolutely inappropriate-not because it's a homeschooling issue, but because it's a individual civil liberties issue.

It's just insane and nonsensical. I wrote about it here on the homeschool blog

I found your blog after I posted this. I'm upset about this, but I'm hoping that it gets overturned. If it doesn't I think it could have bad repercussions down the line.

Jo - It's nothing particular I'm having trouble finding (well, in this case it was the homeschool forum). I just have trouble in general on the site now. I use firefox, but maybe my pop-up blocker is off.
