Default Hot spots?

We have a 2.5 year old golden named Bayleigh. Lately, she digs herself raw when we leave the house. She's always had seperation issues, but they seem to have climaxed since McKenzie's birth. We've made a vet appt for Tuesday(Monday was booked and they're closed tomorrow for the holiday) for her shots and to get a cortozone(Sp) shot as well. Anyhow, is there anything SAFE and pet friendly we can use until then. We've already shaved the area per our vets suggestion- and that seemed to clear it up a bit- but it is still quite nasty looking! Any idea's how to get her to stop chewing herself when we HAVE to leave her?! Poor Pup!
