Default hot tea ok?

I was just wondering if anyone knew if hot tea was ok to drink or iced tea? I live in Illinois and it was a cold one today so I had some hot black tea with lemon; later I just had hot water with lemon. I was just wondering if tea is safe because of the caffeine. I do get iced tea once a week from Starbucks (medium size) and at least once a week I have a coke. How much caffeine can you have?
Thanks

I actually buy the decaf tea...but I know that some people still drink regular tea and coffee...I think if it is in moderation it will be okay...If you do buy the decaf stuff (coffee or tea) look for the ones that are decaffeinated either by the swiss water method or carbon dioxide method as there isn't any chemical residue left behind...Enjoy your tea...I know I do, especially on those chilly nites!!

I think it's a personal choice on how much affeine you intake. I have a girlfriend (and our due dates are 5 days apart) who has drank caffeine all the way through her pregnancy. I on the other hand eliminated it completely for the first 8 months.... Then I got this godawful craving for sweet tea, lol..... So I drink regular full strength tea at least once a day. I think when you hit the later stages you're supposed to watch drinking like raspberry tea and stuff because it can trigger contractions (fake ones but contractions nonetheless) I can't remember where I read that but I'll find it again and post the link.... It was cold today wasn't it?! I live in Illinois too, clsoer to St. Louis, but it was a bit chilly today!! Great day for the zoo though, pleasant to be out in!!

I'm hearing you and agree about the Illinois weather right now!

Last Sunday in Chicago was that big 26 mile marathon that had 1 die, several hospitalized, and it was stopped due to the extreme 90* heat. One of my neighbors ran the marathon and is hospitalized yet with kidney and other organ failures from the heat. Then, it gets down to 39* a couple days later.

Caffeine in moderation makes good sense to me.

It is not like you are having a big pot of 12 cups of coffee for breakfast, more cola, and iced tea too.

You are being very reasonable and healthy with the caffeine
in your body with pg.

Agreed... as long as it's done in moderation! I have one or two cups of caffeinated a day, and go with decaf for the rest of my drinks. Sounds like you've got the right idea!

I agree with you ladies moderation is the key! My midwife said up to 4 caffienated cups tea or coffee, and the rest decaffeinated, you are doing fine!
I still can't face drinking tea or coffee which is weird cos i loved my coffee!!!!

The current guidelines are no more caffeine than what would be in 3 to 4 cups of coffee per day. So enjoy your occassional cup of tea guilt free!

i think the amount of caffeine you're aloud to have equals out to about 8 cans of mountain dew a day. go relax with a hot cup of tea, your bean will be perfectly a-oh-kay.
