How do I leave the house?
Vinnie has been using the potty now for almost 4 weeks, with only 2 accidents! But, how do I leave the house? We live about a half hour away from our parents, and it's all highway driving, so we can't really pull over. We normally put a diaper on him for these drives, but when does that stop? We also put a diaper on him when we go to the store... How will I know when he is ready to stop that?

Your just gonna have to trust him, Could you not take him for a pee before you leave?
I used to pack a spare change of clothes wherever we went but i've never ever used them.
Try not to worry.

Ella has been trained for about the same amt of time that Vinnie has been. We just take an extra set of clothes along everywhere and cross our fingers. She hasn't had an accident in the Van yet and we've even gone longer than an hour in the van. We just make sure she pees right before we leave
Good luck

Before you go, time and see how long he normally goes inbetween needing the toilet, then get him to go to the loo just before you leave.

it is a trust thing...i went thru the same thing with Jaecy...you know how far away Kevin's parents live! I would always put the pull up on her, but it would always stay dry...then one day i just stopped and she was fine!
And make sure u follow everyone else's advice with the extra clothes just in case!!
I also knew people who had big vans like you that would bring a potty with them in the car. You can always pull off on exit and let him go right there in the car! A little boy in Jae's gymnastics class is potty training and will only go in HIS potty, which they bring with them in their van

I agree with pp, yoour just gonna have to trust him , ifshopping when you pass a toilet stop and ask him if he needs to go , I found that helped ; )

I would definitley take the spare clothes with you. I was also going to suggest taking a potty in the car with you when you travel long distances, but Rhianna beat me to it
I'm sure he'll be fine with it. Good luck!
