Default How important is formula at this stage

K's been cutting back her bottles. She's down to two a day now(8 ounces each). She gets TONS of fluids via sippy. However, she will NOT take formula from her sippy..
We're trying to wean from the bottle by 1 year, so I really don't want to encourage her to drink her bottle if she's not interested.
Think what she has is OK at this point(She'll be 11 months on the 26th)
BTW, when is it OK to introduce whole milk in her sippy? She's had milk products, cheese, etc- but she's never had it via sippy or just straight milk.

Emma's pediatrician said formula and bottle until they turn one, then it's bye-bye bottles and onto whole milk. Most babies get constipated going right to whole milk, so you can wean them on by doing 3/4 formula mix, 1/4 whole milk, then gradually make it so that you're putting a small amount of formula powder into whole milk (where she's getting used to not only the new taste of whole milk, but her body won't freak out when it goes to plain whole milk). It took about 6 weeks to wean Emma's body onto whole milk to where she wouldn't have horrible constipation.

When you try to put her milk into a sippy, start out with putting less and less into a bottle and then have a full sippy ready. Then, she'll get tired of running out of milk in the bottle and hopefully, go to the sippy.

Both our kids were on milk by 11 months. We did not want to have milk in the bottles, and although we gave in and gave our younger DD milk in her bedtime bottle (until 14 months, sadly), I refused to put formula into sippy cups. Neither of them had any constipation issues that I was aware of, and both are happy kids now!

Thanks. We're still doing 2 bottles(one morning and night) but mainly because I have a ton of Enfamil left over. When that is gone- so are the bottles.
I've been giving her organic whole milk in her sippy and she doesn't care for it. Normal? I mean, she'll maybe drink 2 ounces of it from her cup during meals and that is because she'd dying of theirst. However, she'll down 10 ounces of water like it is nobodies business.
She gets a lot of milk product so I am not too concerned about it.

Jae refused milk after we got rid of the bottles. No big deal, she is bigger then most kids her age and growing just fine. She eats cheese everyday to get the calcium. Kaydee still refuses to sleep unless she has that bottle. Tomorrow is her bday, so who knows how long she will have it for. She drink the Lactaid out of a sippy but in small amounts she doesnt seem to care for it either. Chocolate milk on the other hand she gulps down! We only have 2 can of formula left, then its bye bye formula and thats that. But like i said bottles are a different story haha
