I was curious how many others had been hassled this month over quantities at their stores since the change to many catalina deals. For deals like buy $20 in dove to get $5 catalina or $50 for the movie tickets, quantities are needed!!


I got reamed again by the ignorant manager tonight. They are getting complaints b/c of me taking all of their stuff. They are being accused of fraud for not having stuff in stock. She also tried to tell me I was ripping them off w/ the coupons by using more than one ("one per purchase"). She finally did stop aruing the one per purchase, but she did bring up the Lady speed stick 7day cpn limit of 3. Well I can buy more than the ad, it will be full price IMO. It is up to them to charge me full price after 3. I don't control their cpn. I was just trying to get to $20. Then she was going into about how I couldn't get all the coupons myself. This coming from the manager whose shift 3 weeks ago some employee took all the inserts out of the Early Ed of the Sunday paper, which meant the paper guy would lose credit for those papers. I am so mad.


Here's the thing.....I hadn't been wiping them out of ad items. SOMEONE ELSE!! I wouldn't be upset if I had actually gotten everything! But I don't think it was me. The Crest 2 wks ago wasn't me. 5of 7 types were gone and I didn't get a single one. When I did get some scope ones this week (17), I took from several types. All still had some left even tonight except for peppermint. I didn't get ANY Infusions, Electrosol, Glade plugins, or Ajax---those were sold out but not my fault!! I only got 1 of Jet Dry. I can't remember where I got skintimate, but it was only the limit of 4. Again, not my fault they were out.

I did wipe out a few rows of the DOve deo not on sale. However, this was done over several days, not all in one. I had to get 8 at a time for the $20 to get the catalina. Kotex pads I didn't buy very many until tonight 2 hours before the sale ended! Then it was just 8 and there were still tons back there. There were tons of Lady Speed stick. There were several empty rows of deo, but other than dove, they weren't done by me.


Another reason I don't think its right to accuse me---I got most of my stuff from other stores! I spread it around. Those stores haven't said anything bad.


So how many others have had more than usual troubles? In one way it is nice to just send in the catalina for the movies, however gettting hassled b/c I'm trying to get $50 at once blows. I'll be avoiding my store for awhile. I'll even buy my reg rebate stuff at others. I don't know if complaining would help.

I was given grief and told I would NOT be able to do this again. I called corporate and the store manager called me back to confirm what the manager on duty told me at check out... (one coupon per purchase, wiping the shelves, didnt even buy the sale items, just crest w/scope). I called coporate again to speak w/the regional manager and the store manager ended up calling me back to apoligized and thank me for educating him on coupons and agreed if they were running a promo there was no reason to deny me for the quantities I bought.
I'm not a regular at Walgreens, its a bit of a drive, and the hassle makes it even less tempting.

I had trouble at the begininng of the month buying Cottonelle for the KC rebate. The cashier told me her manager would only let me buy the limit of 3 stated on the 7 day coupon, instead of the 9 or so I wanted to buy right then. I said forget it and put all back. A couple of days later ended up buying only 3 or so at a time at that location and another one. I was able to get the deal, but it was a bigger hassle than it needed to be.

I want to do the Van de Kamps deal, but I'm figuring I need to divide it up and only buy 4 at a time, rather than 11 at once. They really shouldn't make the rebate purchase requirements so high if they don't want to let customers buy the product. I'm sure their getting their goal of getting customers into the store more often, so they probably don't really care. It's all about their making money.

What catalina deals have I been missing? Am particularly interested in a Jet Dry deal if there is still one going on as I am ivdso it. Been out of the loop in general and out of the loop at Walgreen's in particular.

I just hope WG corporate headquarters (who handle the easysaver rebates) don't become strict with things like double dipping.

It's never happened to me....
sounds like the manager is kind of ignorant.....I mean they are in business to sell stuff...so why complain when people are buying even when it's only one person.....

This asst manager said that people were complaining and accusing the store of fraud for not having the sale items. I checked what I bought. I didn't buyout ANY sale item. In fact I couldn't even get sale items that I wanted. I know what stuff folks probably complained about and that isn't what I bought. That is what makes me mad is blaming me when I didn't do it.

Even if I'm not there, the shelves will still be empty. Things never get restocked during a sale. I'm thinking about not shopping there, and then calling the head manager to see if they are still getting complaints.

I had reported her store during her shift for stealing inserts from the paper to the paper guy. I wondered if that has something to do w/ her nastiness. Maybe the inserts were for her?
