Default How many of your Teens have.....

wrecked their car in the first 6 months of driving? Mine did!! He rear ended another car. I know it was an accident but was really hard not to punish him. I guess it is punishment enough that he has no car right now and is having to work to earn the money to get his car back on the road.

I am going grey haired fast!!

I hit a parked car in the first 6 months after getting my license~I was 26. But the weather was bad (snow and slush and ice) and I hit a slick spot while pulling out of a parallel parking spot. Put a good dent in the other bumper. Mine was already damaged from my hubby hitting a pole at work.

yep, put me on the list. i was leaving school & pulling out of my spot (i was parallel parked) when a car came speeding around the corner and took off my front end. turned out they were drug dealers trying to get away, they pulled over & abandoned their vehicle before the cops got there.

Yep, we were driving through Wales and the roads are up in the mountains very narrow and windy, we took a corner and infront of us was a full blowm fox hunt so I had to swerve onto the other side of the road we were sat waiting for the hounds to leave and a van got us from behind and then he started screaming at us in Welsh so we had to take his number plate as we couldn't understand him and he wouldn't speak in English.
The first accident that was my fault technically, a bird flew into my window screen and I swerved because I'm really clever like that, I went down the embankment in the middle of the motorway up the otherside into traffic going in the other direction and swerved back into the embankment where I had half of yorkshire in my car.

Frank had this first accident in the first year, he didn't see parked car...

Knock on wood!

I have been lucky enough to be only hit once, at a slow rate of speed,
and t-boned. Wasn't my fault. I was an adult.

Knock on wood.

Awaiting both of my sons (19, 22), but that could occur any day - God help us!

They have had a couple of pole dings, but nothing major with our cars and truck.

DS#2 did have an accident last summer on one of those SeaDogs, 1st time on it on the lake. It was a friends and he and the other kid
ran into each other after a big wave. It was DS#2's fault. Good thing for insurance.

I'll keep saying it. Knock on wood.

I've been driving for almost a year now. (august 21st) but haven't been in a major accident yet. I've been hit by another car from behind... but it was just a fender bender... nothing major.
