I have a quick question. The nurse said he might have reflux, What do I do about it? Should I watch for anything? Do anything different? Also he might be coming home on oxygen, any advice? And if he doesn't what should I look for? I'm a little paranoid that he'll come home and get worse again. He had a very severe case of RDS. I feel unprepaired. I'm terriffied the other boys will get him sick or worse give him RSV. But I'll stop for now. Thanks everyone for listening.

My Gab weighed only 3.5 lbs at 35 weeks 6 days, delivered via emergency C-section due to severe olygohidramnos (there was literally no fluid in my sac) . He had IUGR (intrauterine growth retardation) due to my preeclampsia., meaning he did not grow much inside me due to my high blood pressure. He stayed in the NICU for 18 days just to give him prophylactic antibiotics and to undergo usual test for preemies. He did not have to be incubated nor supplemented with oxygen. He was really a healthy 3 pounder. My OB gave me a shot of steroids at my 29th' week in anticipation of premature birth. It was supposed to prepare your baby's lungs incase he/she is to be born before term, and it did help in our case.

Now, at 4 months and 6 days, he is 12 pounds and getting bigger, smarter and lovelier. By the way, he did started to mumble mama at 2 months and now started to mumble papa. Keep praying. Talk to your baby as often as you can and let the little angel know how much you loved him. I was talking to Gab the whole time in the labor room while he was in distress (thru fetal monitor), for him to be strong and just wait a little longer and he did without complication.

Godbless you and your little boy.

It will be all worth it when you see your baby in your hands, waiting to be nurtured..
