Default How old were you?

Just curious.........

How old were you when you got married? Did your families approve of your marriage? Would you change anything about your wedding day? Where there any big mishaps on your wedding day?

I'll start:
We were both 21 when we got married. Our families did approve although i think they would have prefered if we would have waited a nother year or 2....no one said those exact words, but they were implied a time or 2.
And know what i know now, i think i would have waited a maybe another year to plan a little better....but we were young and stubborn!
I would change my dress if i could go back. I would have gotten something that i was in love with. I foolishly went dress shoppin with out my mom and got a dress that was cheap and just kinda pretty.....DUMB! My mom was mad at me and said she was going to take me shopping and buy any dress i wanted....she should have told me that a little sooner! LoL!

Our wedding reception was outside in a big white tent and a huge storm blew in! Then the fire whistle blew and everyone thought it was for a tornado warning, but it wasn't, there was a fire somewhere in town! So lots of people left right after the dinner. I was sooo mad and invisioned myself watching TV on my parents couch all night or something like that. But then people starting coming back and we had a really fun night!

I was 31 when i got married. We had a lovely quiet wedding (41 including us and the kids). The service was in a registy office followed by a meal in local pub. I was 16 weeks pg with Josh and my family get on great with G so were very happy. Weather was gorgeous and it was perfect day.

We were 29 and 28, me being the oldest, his father did approve, but his mother has had nothing to do with him since. We had it outside, it was during the start of the summer floods last year, we just got the last of the good weather then from the next day onwards it was raining and cold, so we were pretty lucky as we hadn't made any alternative plans for rain.

I was 20 and he was 22. I don't think either one of our families was thrilled. We had only known each other literally 6 months & 1 day when we said I Do. But both sides did support us. They contributed both time & money to give us a picture perfect day.

We got married in DH's family’s church and had our reception at a local Inn. There were 150 guests and we had a wonderful day. Everything went off without a hitch except it was hotter than blazes and no A/C in the church. I felt pretty bad for the guys in their full tux. Good thing I chose strapless for me and my girls.

We were 22 (DH actually turned 22 2 weeks later but he was close enough)

His mom wanted us to have a big wedding, I however was against it. Sh took my side. His mom was a pain the whole day, but no one was against us getting married. We were already living together, Jae was 18 months and I was 5 months pregnant with Kaydee. It just made things right!

Our wedding day was the hottest day of last summer. heat index of 110! YIKES And EVERYTHING was outdoors

I wouldn't say that I had a picture book wedding or anything, we did it pretty quickly because my husband's grandmother was ill and dying so we wanted her to be here for the wedding...I say we planned it in 2 weeks! I was 23 and he was 26. I am not the kind of girl that needs the big parade of flowers and all that junk so I was fine with it. We got married in his parents church for free (which is now our church!)
We already had our kids, Savanah was 3 and Ayden was 5 months old. We weren't in church yet. My family, ehh, really don't care, they seemed to approve but they are so weird, they would probably say one thing to your face and another behind your back so....
My inlaws, I love. They are supportive and wonderful no matter what. They being in church of course wanted us to get married. (when we got preggo the first time!)
I wore a white pants suit, brand spankin' new kickin' high heals My hubby wore a new pair of nice jeans and a new sweater. Our colors were burgundy and gold (It was Christmas time). We had a lovely simple 3 teired (sp?) cake made for us that my mil paid for. They made simple finger foods, none of which we paid for either. So I think the only thing we paid for is our clothes works for me! We did it so fast I forgot to invite a bunch of people. Oh well ! Can't go back now.
His grandma died 3 months later so I am just happy she got to be here and see her precious grandson get married.

We were 21. Got married in his parents' church. They don't believe in dancing so we had the shortest reception ever. . . Got accused of smoking pot on our honeymoon. . .

I was 22 dh was 21. They messed up our first dance and we did too because we didn't know what to do with our hands The DJ made tons of mistakes...played all the songs on the don't play list, and didn't play any songs on the play list!! We forgot to bring the flowers to the reception and people complained because I didn't throw them....but I didn't have them!! We were supposed to take family photos but forgot to do some of them.
