Wish my 18 month old twins could have that, but my ped wants to wait until they are 2. Bummer!
In the meantime, they do eat turkey, ham, tofu & chicken. I would love to get them to eat eggs, but everytime I try to serve them scrambled eggs, they spit them out! Even when I try to mix them up in something they like.
Does anyone have any tips for getting kids to eat eggs?????
Thanks...Looking forward to being a part of this forum!

I read that unless your family has a history of food allergies that Peanut butter, and other potential food allergens are OK to introduce. My 11 month old meat hater has been eating peaut butter sandwiches for almost 5 months now without any problems (aside from occationally not wanting to eat it). It's been nice, knowing that he is at least getting SOME protein!

Well, maybe i willl give it a shot. they do eat chicken tenders, tofu, cheese, yogurt, so I am not too worried about the protein part. I would like them to eat red meat for the iron content, though.

I'm afraid my 3 year old is going to sprout feathers. All she eats is chicken. She hates beef. Her dad on the other hand says when she is with him she eats great. I have trouble getting her to eat anything other than noodles, chicken, ham, and raviolis.

I say don't make an issue of it. If there's any chance of having control over anything, a toddler will try to use it. Act like you don't care...eventually the "game" will be over for her & she'll eat meat.

I never made my kids eat one thing they didn't want to. They all have healthy appetites now. And they don't live off cookies either

I wrote several blogs in food awhile back about how the Sneaky Mama gets her kids to eat enough of the right foods. Here is a link to the search page. . .

It is not a big deal when kids reject certain foods. I think it is unwise to make an issue of it because in the end. . .if your toddler decides that this is the issue he's going to test you on and enter into a power struggle. . .you can't win. There is no way that I'm aware of to force a child to eat something. Lot's of toddlers just decide that they'll only eat certain foods. It's pretty normal. Just find other sources.

Re pb and the twins. If your twins were preemies I wouldn't try offering peanut butter. Preemies do not develop the same as full term-babies in the first two years. I'm sure if they're preemies you've heard the term 'adjusted age'. Peanut butter and eggs are both highly allergenic foods and if you don't know how they're going to react it is much better to wait. A family history of allergies (especially in the case of preemies) is not indicative of how they'll react.

Well I have the opposite problem! My son will only eat meat. If you give him a sandwich he only eats the meat. If you make him dinner and put brocolli, pork and ricr on his plate he just eats the pork. Its weird. I dotn know why this is. He like cheese but he will only eat polly-o string cheese, he will not touch just a piece of regular cheese. For breakfast he eats just sausage, he does not like eggs. I just dont get it. Ive been struggling with this for a year. Any ideas, Im running out of ides for dinner! He will be 3 in October.

Ever try to put the vegies in the meat? Ex meat balls...I put garlic, onion and tomatoes in them sometimes...MY now 7yr old hated tomatoes....I would tell him it was a spice "i Know little white lie" (but it worked!) and he would eat it..Also sauces are a great way to get vegies in your kids...you can blend cooked vegies in with them such as carrots. You can also get fuit/vegie juice sunripe has a bunch and Alejandro loved/loves them Hope this helps

Why meat? If you want for them to grow up great and healthy why give them meat? If you want a male response (link removed by moderator) to the food, you just have to wait for him to be older. Don`t feed your child meat from this fragile age you will be sorry later.
