Default How's everyone's progess?

Just curious how everyone is progessing, stalling, or backtracking. Life is getting back to normal, after spending half of September travelling and finishing my mom's house.

My exercising is back on track after the break I took when working at Mom's. I've only missed one day of walking in the last 25 days. It was raining that day. Over half of the days, I walk in the morning and in the evening w/ dh. My first walks are now ranging in 4500-5300 steps, up from 4000 before my break. Including stretching some walks are almost an hour. Evening walks are shorter, b/c dh and ds just can't keep up w/ big momma--plus we usually only have 30 min.

Last October was when I decided that I was going to make life changes. Those were small steps last fall, with more serious changes in Jan. I could barely walk to the end of my street and back (850 steps). My legs would be killing me w/ shin splints or PAD. Now I can do 5000+ steps and have no pains in the shins/lower legs.

However, my weight actually went up a couple of weeks ago--2-3lbs. Not bad, 9 months losing weight, and this is my first non bloat gain. At first I thought it was bloating. Then my IBS starting acting very weird. I was in severe pain a few days (and not the usual reason IBS pains me). So I was hoping eating some scary Chinese would clear that up, but it didn't. The IBS is back to normal (for me) but the weight didn't come off. Bummer, b/c I was sooooo close to being at 70lbs lost!! Now I'm back at 66lbs.

I'm trying not to let the scale number bother me much. I'm trying to focus on the getting moving everyday and other tangible ways to judge my loss.
#1: Even at 66lb loss, I have lost my son. Yes, he weighs what I've lost!! What a visual.
#2 I bought a pair a jeans in the reg store!! In another 10 or so lbs, I should be able to fit shirts too!! Pants from the past few years are just hanging off of me. I actually need smaller shorts, but the stores don't have them here.
#3 BP is still good. I got at different stores last weekend: 97/64 (UNDER 100!!!) and 100/67. Usually its in the 11?s/high sixties.
#4 I can see 3 different tiny muscles under all my arm flab. Sweet!

So I'll just keep focusing on my exercise and other positive things, not the scale. I know I should start up aerobics again--Gilad and Sharon Mann are calling me--but I enjoy walking outside so much. Aerobics can wait a month or so until the weather gets cold.

How are you doing??

Default Getting back on track

Well I had to take another detour on weigh loss journey this past month due to getting pregnant, again, only to m/c, again. I actually had to stop walking a few days b/c of spotting before we found out it was doomed anyway. But I didn't stay away from walking for long! I just had to get moving for at least 30 min a day. Unfortunately between the cold weather and feeling yucky, my walks were much shorter. Through the spotting and m/c, I think I probably walked 13/17 days.

Uggg..I hate the back sliding in progress, ya know? Its all so frustrating. I had bloated up @5 lbs w/ the pregnancy, all of it came off and even 2 lbs of the bloat I talked about on 10/5. So I haven't lost much ground in weight, just exercise stamina. 68 lbs so far. I had worked up to one 60 min walk a day w/ 30 min most evenings. Now I'm trying to work my way back up slowly. I just can't walk for the same length of time now the air is cold. So I'm really working hard to go twice.

We are holding off joining the rec center in town until our easy road access is open again. The current detour adds over 20min to our drive. Time is short is the evening. I'm still not thrilled about working out in front of skinny strangers, or worse--folks I knew back when I had a 1 in the front of my weight. DH won't do Gilad or any other exercise tapes w/ me at home, so the rec center is my only choice if I want him to exercise in cold weather. I guess I'll suck it up. Though its a shame he won't "do" Gilad's shows w/ me. There is eye candy for me, eye candy for him in the comfort of our home. You don't find that on every exercise show.
