It could be a week or 2 yet. Sorry. But this can be a good thing, slow and steady. A big jump in dilation means strong contractions, so warm up is good. It sounds like you're getting really excited! Can't wait to meet the new member of the family?! Yaah!

I've heard of women going 3 or 4 weeks at 2-3cm and I've also heard of women being at 1cm for a few days and going into labor. I guess it just depends on your body. Good luck and I hope she comes soon!

i didn't start to dilate until i was in labour... i'm guessing that this slow dilation may make labour quicker... good luck but you still have a few more weeks

Yay for slowly dilating! I was at 1 when I was at 36 weeks, then almost 3 at 37 weeks, and then he was born 10 days early. I must have continued to dilate slowly the whole time and I think I was pretty far along when labor started, since it only took 2 1/2 hours start to finish!

bkallens, that's exactly what I was thinking about. This painless dialation is a great way to start before the real work begins. And when it is really going, it will go faster!

Yeah, that's how it worked for me, I was so far dialated by the time labor actually started, I didn't have far to do during the painful part!
