Garage sales are a lot of fun and you can get great deals on things you need. Locally here some are Friday night after work and Saturday AM too. I have a friend that goes weekly, and plots out the course of the 'hunt' beginning Saturdays at 0600 AM.
She sets her $ limits and even finds brand new items, or clothing w/ brand new tags for a fraction of the cost at the mall.
Last weekend, when I was out of state for the family wedding, was our big neighborhood garage sale both on Friday and Saturday.
Sorry that I missed it, but the wedding was fun.
Glad you got such great deals!

I never have luck at yard sales, basically because Kelsie always tends to knock over the tables. Well, the BIG neighborhood yardsale it this weekend. I'll try that.

We love garage sales. We find lots of great things. We read a lot, so 25 cent books are awesome!!! We bought a bike last year. My daughter did not know how to read a bike, was going away for the summer and one of the activities was a bike ride, so we bought the bike at a garage sale and just recently gave it away. We've bought book cases, lamps, end tables. We used to go a bit more often, but we still go whenever we need something

Finding garage sales
I've found a lot of cool items I wanted to get using this site http://www.local-deals.net They've got a keyword search that really helps.

This doesn't appear to have a lot. I guess it depends on who advertises where you live.
For finding garage sales, I usually go online to my local paper's classifieds. That pretty much tells me everything I need to know.
In my area, garage sale regulations vary from town to town - little 3 and 4 mile square areas where suddenly you can't put up a sign, or you have to get a permit, and then you don't. So having the newspaper from week to week helps.
There's not a lot going on in my area now due to winter. Do folks in Florida find that this is a good time for garage sales?
