Talking I may have solved the problem!

I've been using the Sportswash on all my diapers, I put a cap ful in the cold wash, then wash w/hot, then a rinse w/vinegar, then a cold rinse.

I had to split everything into three loads, needless to say, it's taking a long time...but I really think it's working. At least *I think* the ammonia smell is all gone!

And...Saeda ended up going to bed earlier than I thought she would the other night, and she was wearing an Ecobaby Sherpa fitted w/a fleece cover, and not in a nighttime diaper yet. When she woke up in the morning, it was the first time she wasn't bright red in months. So the next night I added a doubler to the combo, because the diaper is usually one I just use for daytime, and it worked again. So, I have three of these, and I'm going to try this out again tonight.

Maybe she has a fleece allergy? Or maybe the fleece liners I always put in her diaper at night just make it too hot? Well, it seems to be working!!! And I am so happy!

Here's the link to Ecobaby, although I got mine at Babynmore...I just have the daytime absorbancy, I wonder how the nightime would do? http://ecobaby.com/catalog/product.asp?pf_id=pcdprvclgt

So glad you seem to have figured it out! That's great news. I do love my SW!

Oh, and I think you might be on to something w/ the fleece liners being too hot at night. I don't use mine at night and don't have the red bum problem. I know I have heard of quite a few babies that are sensitive to it.

Yay!

I know you must be very relieved. And so must her bum! Way to fix an infuriating problem.

I haven't tried the daytime weight but I did try the nighttime weight on these and they work well for us. I also bought a package of the organic sherpa doublers Erin has on her site (expensive yes since you have to buy in a bigger package - but SO worth it. Actually if you asked she may be willing to sell them individually...don't quote me on that, but I know that she is easy to work with that way )

You know...I didn't even think to mention the "fleece" in your other post...but now it really has me thinking. I've been steering clear of all things fleece lately...I sold all my fleece covers, diapers with fleece inners...the only thing fleece I actually still own are the fb's which I do still use at night. But between always worrying about buildup issues with fleece, heat issues with fleece, etc. etc. etc. it seems to be more trouble than it was worth And Saeda sure wouldn't be the first babe to have reactions to it!
