Default I need other mothers opinions

I have a beautiful 22 month old little boy. His father was in another country until about six weeks ago. Since returning his father has been spending a decent amount of time with our son, which is 6 to 10 hours per week.

Our son is a very mellow kid that like almost anyone and he seems to like hanging out with his father. Tuesday was the first time that his father took him out of my home and back to his place for a few hours. Well that has resulted in our son being very clingy and not wanting me to leave his side.

The strange thing that is really bothering me is that when it is time for his father to leave our son has no interest in saying goodbye to him or even looking at him. This has been happening almost the entire six weeks (maybe not the first or second time his father saw him, I don't remember.) His father will call out his name repeatedly and our son won't look at him. Our son does not do this with anyone eles, ever. He says goodbye to every one even random strangers.

What do you think?

It seems like regression to me and that our son is not handling the stress of the transition well. I am just getting this bad feeling in my gut
