Wow, what a tough situation for you. Personally, I wouldn't expect a severance, although it would be very nice of them to give one. Since you were a valued employee, and they seem to care enough about you to keep paying you disability for 7 years, I think they may offer you some small settlement if their finances will allow for it.

What will you do now?

Maybe i didnt make it very clear.. they are not paying my disability..I am getting paid through the government. The only thing my employer is paying is my health benefit fee's, which will end when they close.
Also i am on long term disability. I hope for a cure but its unlikely.I got to the point where i need to use a scooter.
I will probably ask them, i can't not try..I am not sure i would seek professional help. Even if they give me something thats better then nothing at all.My mediacl alone exceeds 300.00 a month which now i will have to come up with.
Thanks
Rick

Since you are on government disability, would you qualify for Medicaid once your employer terminates your health coverage? I don't know the laws on this (and it may vary state to state), but it would be worth looking into.

I could ask about that.. but i am 99.9 % sure there is nothing. I am in Canada, not the USA. Even if people retire early, you get nothing from the Government regarding benefits for medications and dental.. the Government will only pay for drugs after the age 65 yrs old and then there is a 100.00 deductable. And after 65 yrs you have to pay your own dental.
I didnt get much response from this message.. thanks for your reply.
