Here are some pix of kal in his new diapers!
The first and third pictures are of his Thirsties cover with a prefold. This one fits great and makes his hinder looks huge!
The 2nd and 4th pictures are his BumGenious AIO with a pocket. Its a large but doesn't fit really well.....it left some pinch marks on each of his upper thighs. I think i have to just work with the the way I put it on....i have to make it work, it cost enough!

He doesn't mind them. He kept sitting down and looking at the diaper and saying "whats that?" lol!

OK....so you'll want to use distilled white vinegar, not cider vinegar or regular white vinegar. It neutralize the urine, equalizes pH balance, helps eliminate soap residue/film build-up, deters the setting-in of stains, can cut down on lint, can help keep colors from bleeding, and is a natural fabric softener and static cling reducer.

Reasons NOT to use it is if you have hard water there is a chance that vinegar can mix with trace minerals in your water supply, causing your diapers to smell acrid once urinated upon....but you could use washing soda to make your water softer I believe.
If you have build up on your dipes you should stop using the distilled white vinegar and strip your dipes (washing repeatedly in very hot water)
Also...polyester easily holds in smells....polyester is in many dipe covers. Vinegar's acidity can react to baby's acidic urine and together, they can release a very acrid smell.....MY opinion is try it and see what happens. It won't damage your diapers and can be washed out very easily.

I use no more than 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar in any rinse cycle....too much of anything is no good lol

Those pictures are adorable!

Thanks Kara!

Well so far so good. We've been using the diapers for a few days now. I definetly prefer the aio's. The prefolds with the covers are ok, but they're much more bulky.
I ordered 2 more aio's they should be here this week.
Dh tried his first prefold with a cover and did fine, but i had to walk him thru it....he did it, thats what counts!

I am still putting a dispoable on him at naps and bed time. He's such a heavy wetter at night I am afraid that he'll wake up soaked from head to toe with a cd......maybe he won't, I am just scared! I am going to put a aio on him for nap today to see how that goes.

Kaydee has been doing awesome sleeping through the night with the GDiapers...she hasnt woken up AT ALL...its great....i just said in Kasia's thread that the only issues we are having is the inserts slide to the back, so sometimes she pees through.

I ordered 4 more all in ones....i am just not liking the prefolds as much, so i wanted more aio's.
I ordered another thisrties, 1 happy heiny and 1 fuzzi buns.
I also ordered one more from a wahm on ebay. I have one of hers and its not great, but it does the job....so i will have 7 aio's....that should get me thru the day and i will use the prefolds for emergencies.

OOOHHHH AND i tried to use an aio for over night....what a disaster! !
There was pee EVERYWHERE! Kals shoulders were even wet!! EW!!! It wasn't good! I even put a doubler in it. He is such a huge pee-er! Even Huggies Over nights rarely hold it all in.

So thats my update for now.

AIGH! You ladies are making me so jealous! I really want to CD, but I keep balking at the up-front price. I know it saves money in the long run, but...

Do you have to do a load of laundry everyday?

I do wash the diapers everyday. I just don't like the idea of them sitting there over night....ew!
But its not like a regular load that you have to sort, fold, put away. Its much faster and easier, for me anyways.
You just dump the diapers in and wash them, put them in the dryer and then I put them by our diaper changing area in the living room....its much less trouble than a regular load of clothes. I have only been doing them for less than a week and so far I don't mind washing them at all....i thought i would hate that part, but its a piece of cake. I actually look forward to washing them for some odd reason!

I also enjoyed washing. I did them everyday but you don't have to...I just didn't like the idea of having them overnight. It was always a small load...I got some sort of satisfaction from washing them. (?) I donno why. I plan on doing them everyday again when the baby is born.
