i really hate my neighbors
I live in an upstairs apartment. We have only one parking spot assigned to us, with no other additional parking available. We negotiated with our existing neighbors to let us park in front of the building parallel style. Everything was fine until these new people came in. They didnt care what sort of pre arrangement we had, they wanted those spots. They have FOUR cars, so whenever one person leaves they move another car into that spot so that we cant park there. I have tried to negotiate with them to have one spot and let us have one spot, since I have Mikael to get in and out of the car, but they wont even answer their door. They DRILL in the middle of the night. They KEYED my car. They party all the time.
And here's the kicker. The apartment is a 2 bedroom +den, which could work as a bedroom, that's my son's room. anyway, they have 7 adults and at LEAST 8 children living there!!!!
Isn't there a law against having that many people in a small space? the apartments are not exactly small but they are certainly not big enough for 15 people!
I am going to call the fire marshal... I am tempted to call the police too.
I dont mean to sound vindictive, but those poor kids have no life in that apartment! It's filthy, smelly, and there is nowhere for them to go! They are SOOO Loud down there.. the TV is always full blast, kids screaming and running all over...
ugh sorry I am just beyond pissed at these people.

Talk to your landlord. He/she may not know that many paople are living there and will probably get in trouble if you call the fire marshall. I'd let your landlord handle it first. If nothing chamges, THEN call the fire marshall.
If your landlord knows thatmany people are living there, then by all means, call someone. That is a safety violation and needs to be taken care of - espec. where children are involved.
Each city has their own code for max. people living there and you could probably look it up - but 15 is way too much for any city.

Call the landlord about the parking issue, the noise, and see what the response is.
Your next step would be to call the police.
Landlord could also paint your apt # on the parking places, so each apt get one. Then, the car in your place, could be towed.
Good luck!

This all depends on the local laws. The police will probably have no power to do anything if there is not an immediate danger to health or safety. In most states, there are no laws that say you can't have a hundred residents in a one-bedroom. There are absolutely ZERO laws anywhere that can help you with the parking problem.

The only course of action I would recommend is writing a LETTER to the landlord, outlining your problem, and your action if that problem is not addressed. Don't call him, you want proof that you advised him of your complaint. Ask to withhold rent until the problem is corrected. Landlords ARE generally required in all states to provide you with "Quiet Enjoyment of the Property." If you have a legitimate problem that prevents the quiet enjoyment of your apartment, then most likely your landlord will be legally bound to fix the problem. Be careful though, he may very well have the right to fix the problem by evicting YOU. It all will depend on who he percieves the problem to be.
