Default I think my mother-in-law is depressed...

I have noticed that within the last few months my mother-in-law has not been herself. She is a 53 year old woman, that is in good health. She has always been active and very involved as a grandparent, mother, and wife. But, within these couple of months she says she gets really tired (to the point that she'll stay in bed until noon or a little. Everytime I talk to her (we speak multiple times during the day), she'll tell me she has a headache, is nause, or doesn't feel like doing anything. She has been to the doctor and like I mentioned she is in good health. She believes she might be going through a pre-menopause stage and that is why she feels like this (that it is hormonal). When she gets she period, she gets worse she will literally not leave her bed almost all day. She hardly cooks anymore (thank God my father-in-law knows how to) or does anything around the house. We are all worried about her, but she says she is fine. Is this all hormonal ? Or is she maybe depressed? Any Advice?
