Default Ice

I want some ice so bad!!! Sonic has become my new best friend, $.50 for a large 44oz cup of ice YUMMY I have been told, old wives tale i think, that craving ice is a sign of low iron, but I have had this craving with all 4 pregnancies and this was the first time the iron was even brought up, and still its in the normal range just on the low side. Guess I need to get an extra iron supplement I hate taking pills

I lived at Rita's Water Ice last summer when I was PG with Emma. We went every day...sometimes twice. I went through so many of those punch cards it wasn't funny

i've heard my husband say that before too. i've had iron problems previously, and never craved ice. so who knows?? if you are worried about it, try adding an iron-rich food to your diet. if you're not big on beef - shrimp & turkey are good too. (Shrimp is actually higher in iron than beef). or just adding a little more chicken to my diet did the trick for me.

I craved Ices my last month of my pg. But it wasn't until I went to have the baby I wanted plain ice. Never hear about the iron part before though... Hopefully it's nothing bad.
The only thing my dr told me about ice was watch chewing on it cause pg can weaken some women's teeth.

Eating an over abundance of ice actually lowers iron absorption in your body. It is strange, but I work with dieticians and RD's all day long and this is what they tell our families.
Maybe you should cool down on the ice (haha) and see what happens
Hope this helps!

i craved ice when I was pregnant with DS... but it was such a pain to keep having to freeze ice (there wasnt much around here to get just ice chips at) so I started buying costco size things of otter pops. i seriously have like twenty a day... it was fantastic. they are super cheap and have yummy flavors too.
After I had DS I also wanted nothing but ice chips and cranberry juice... seriously. For like three weeks I lived off of those.
