Wink Ideas to celebrate hubbies 40th b-day

I am starting to plan a surprise 40th birthday event for my hubby. It's not until Feb -09, but am looking for any input or successes you may have had doing this same thing for your spouse.
I am thinking a party at our new home (we are moving in the next 2 months), or even planning a night out with a few friends.
Thanks much

40th was my best BD yet! Your DH's will be too!

My older sis jumped out of an airplane w/ a tandem experienced jumper for her 40th BD.
We had a surprise party to join her with lots of food & fun.
We all laid down on the ground by the landing spot and spelled
out her name w/ our bodies.
Upon landing, she broke her ankle.

Same sister also did a balloon ride for another birthday.

I celebrated an entire month w/ my 40th. Weekend sisters only party. Potluck at work x 2. Special dinner with our friends on the 40th floor at a restaurant that rotated. Beautiful night lights of the city.

Buy 40 item gifts:
40 cottonballs
40 Qtips
40 crayons
40 of his favorite snack
40 baseball hats
40 pieces of bubble gum
40 cans of his fav beverage.

Locally we have this huge pink elephant holding a beverage in his trunk.
People rent to have placed on somebody's front yard w/ an attached sign.
Or you could place 40 pink flamingos or 40 black birds in the front yard.

On his way into work, there are probably billboards or those moving signs like at the
bank. Some of them allow you to put "Happy 40th Birthday, Joseph" for a small donation.

40 dollar bills. Split them in half. Place in a large glass jar w/ lid.

You could have a lot of fun w/ this one!
He'll need to put them together w/ tape.

QueenA sounds like you had a fantastic month long 40th celebration. Good for you! It is one of those birthdays that deserves to be celebrated uniquely. Thanks for the ideas.
