My husband had ITP when he was about 6 or 7 years old. This was 30 years ago, when very little was known about ITP. In fact, his case was written in some medical journals... He was not expected to survive the night, the week, the month. After that they stopped making predictions. His platelate count steadily increased and he is around today to make my life miserable.... er... I mean.... wonderful!

It is a long road to recovery. But the medical advances are amazing. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
