Default I'm a Dad and i need some advise..

I am 27 years old with full custody of my soon to be 8 year old boy. I am very active, but my son isnt. He absolutely loves video games, but i want him to get up and do stuff with his hands or whatnot.

I was brought up very old fashion, and taught a lot of stuff by his age that i dont have a clue on how to even start teaching him.

Anyways, i would like to get some ideas of hobbies we could do together and spend some good father son time. I know all the obvious stuff like hunting fishing and whatnot, but i would like to find something a little more odd, somethign that i can let him take the lead on and even if he screws something up it would still be fine.

So like model cars i dont think would work very well, cause he doesnt have a good attention span and if he screwed it up, it would hurt his self asteem by looking at a car that isnt built right.

Lastly, we arent very well off, we pay our bills fine, but dont have a ton of extra money to get into a expensive hobby, so the cheaper the better.

Thanks for any help i may get...
