In the three months following labor and delivery, your body is more fertile and you are more likely to get pregnant than any other time. Am I saying you will? No, because you have to be ovulating. But its hard to tell. If you don't want another baby, you should use condoms until you do a pregnancy test, then if you aren't pregnant get on birth control girl! Good luck!

Have you gotten your first postpartum AF? Are you breastfeeding? If you are, then there is a pretty good chance that you aren't preggo. (If you are exclusively breastfeeding, around the clock, limiting use of pacis, and AF is still a no show) I would take a pregnancy test in a couple of weeks and see. If you are breastfeeding, you might want to consider using a barrier method instead of a hormonal method. Hormonal bc can drastically affect milk supply in some women, and I don't really think it is worth the chance to find out if it will with you. Good luck!

Here are some links to Valorie's blogs on natural child spacing. It's some really interesting info. I've heard of a lot of people getting pregnant while bf, but as I looked into Lactional Amenorrhea
as a form of birth control, I realized that they might not have been following the "rules." This information may help clear your mind.

Also, here's a link to Wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactati...norrhea_Method
According to that link, the failure rate with perfect use is .05% and with typical use it is 2%. So, with typical use it is about as safe as using bc pills as your only method.

HTH!

I got pregnant when my son was only 4 months old. I was breastfeeding also. We all know how it happens, it is just that we were so careful until my appt to get the pill. That is when we found out!! Good Luck!
