Default immunizations and autism

Lately I have been hearing alot about autism being linked to immunizations. Mainly 2 yr shots. I am getting really nervous! Connor goes for his 2 yr checkup in 2 weeks. I don't know what to do. I'm scared something will go wrong with his shots. Does anyone have any information or any experience on this. I have looked on yahoo but I can't really find anything. TIA!

I will dig up the old thread we had related to this...it is a very 'Hot" topic.
One thing I know for sure (at least here in canada) the vast majority of shots do not have mercury in them...those that do your doc is suppose to tell you...that way you are informed.

I would go to your local health unit and pick up some information from the health nurses in order to make an informed decision.

I have moved this thread to the immuization area as it is more appropriate here...and Here is a previous thread that may answer some of your questions.

Yeah, the mercury seems to be the problem. But there are a lot of ideas out there.

There's a lot of controversy surrounding the MMR shot that they receive. It contains thermisol...which I believe is also known as mercury. I'm on the fence about the whole thing. I think that autism is caused by both enviromental & genetic factors.
By the way, did anyone catch the Oprah show a few days ago, with Jenny Mcarthy? She talks about her son's autism. I have her new book about it, and I can't put it down.

I saw the show!! It was a really good show.
I am terrified of the shots. They say they took out the mercury (thimerosal) but if you go on the CDC's website and look at the ingredients a lot of the shots still have trace amounts of it in there!!!! And for a baby trace amounts are more than they would be for an adult to deal with. Also almost all of the flu shots still contain Thimerosal!!!! Yet they recommend flu shots for all babies 6 months and up every year! And when you are pregnant they try to give everyone flushots with Thimeosal in it! GRRR.
Has anyone read Dr. Bocks book???? Healing the Childhood Epidemics of Autism ADHD, Asthma and Allergies. It is an awesome book. It talks about the vaccines, and a safer vaccination schedule. I couldn't put this book down. It is a must read for anyone that is deciding what to do about vaccines. And anyone with a child affected by one fo thede 4 things.

If you are in New Jersey, it is more than just a marginal concern. We have an absolute epidemic of autism here. This used to be really unusual, now I know or have met within the past 5 years at least 5 people whose children are affected - and new Jersey has the highest rate of autism in the USA.

there are a few websites that talk about the shots and their link to Autism as well as the CDC's website with a list of the ingredients in the shots. (Yikes)
