What always helps me is reading diet/self-image books and watching similar themed TV shows. I find it inspiring and motivating most of the time. There's a new show actually called How to Look good naked that looks very helpful..it teaches girls of all shapes and sizes to dress to fit their body and be happy with how they look. It has Carson from Queer eye too so it should be educational and entertaining all at once. Besides that, i'd say take it one day at a time and concentrate on how amazing you'll look and feel in just a few months if you eat right and exercie!

What has helped me is eating a big breakfast. . .and eating frequently! I eat oatmeal and fruit for breakfast. . .and sometimes yogurt. For a snack I have that yogurt and more fruit. For lunch veggies. . .either steamed or a salad. . .another snack. . .and pretty much whatever I want for dinner in a small portion. I'm steadily losing 2 or more lbs. per week this way. I'm never hungry. . . I have no will power. . .I can't do hungry!

Drinking lots of water and eating healthy unprocessed food is always helpful. 6 small meals is better then 3 large meals. Good luck and don't give up.

i know water does definitly work...if i feel hungry, before i grab a snack, i drink a nice cold tall glass of water...i actually read somewhere too, that if the water is really cold you are burning more calories justs by drinking it! Something about your body having to heat it up and using more engery to do so or something....im a person who gets cravings really bad too, but i just try to ignore them for a few mins and usually they will go away...good luck!

I am 5'7 and 155 pds. I stuggled at 170 for years and lost those pounds at Curves for Women. (You can edit that if you don't want the name listed!)
I did the Curves diet for 6 weeks and it was great! And I still watch what I eat!
CUT OUT sugar, white flour, white rice, sauces and gravy. Watch the sodium, fats and sugar level.
EAT 3 good meals a day and 3 small snacks. I learnt how to read labels and enjoy life with more energy.
You will never be able to eat everything they have listed! They have 3 types of food plans. You buy your own healthy food not theirs by the way.
GO through your cupboard, fridge and freezer. GIT RID of all the bad food.
It was liberating. My kids had to eat healthier and 12 hf pds came off brilliantly. Great good food and my clothes are so loose.
I also found going for their easy to do work out 3 x a week a breeze. There were not twiggy models there but women like me! And we are all succeeding. No excuses.
Many diets and exercise plans follow these guidelines. DO NOT cut down on the amount of food. Just WHAT you eat! Wow. Food is addictive especially bad food.

The show was REALLY good. Carson is probably the only man that could get me to take off my clothes on national television hehe. Well, maybe not even he could get me to that. But anyway, the show was very inspiring and funny! I'm excited for next week's episode!

A few people have already mentioned it but I've found eating small portions of good food throught the day is helpfull. Just hang in there. They say it takes 40 days to make/break a habit so if you keep it up, you're body will be used to it before you know it.

I'll echo the frequent eaters and water drinkers...I have yo-yo'd a hundred times in the last 15 years or so...I've done every diet out there, from Weight Watchers to Atkins and everything in between. Finally (I'm a little slow sometimes) I realized I was going to have to change my actual eating habits, like my when, why, how, where and what I eat....so I went to a nutritionist - an actual doctor, with an actual medical degree who isn't selling books or diet plans or who hasn't been on any TV shows or magazine covers. They gave me the simplest, easiest, most brilliant weight loss plan I've ever heard:
Eat 1200 calories a day. Exercise 45-60 minutes on most days. Drink at least 8 oz glasses of water every day. Get a good night's sleep.
Of course, the calories should be nutrient-rich foods such as whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean meats, and natural unsaturated fats (like olive oil).
I've lost over 30lbs since December, and I'm still losing...best of luck with whatever path you choose.
