Hi everyone!
I just found families.com and joined. I am Cara, a sahm to two girls, 7 & 9. We have been homeschooling off and on for 4 years, but last year made a firm committment after another disastrous try with a charter school.
My husband David and I are very active in our church as our our girls. Both of our girls are very musical. Our eldest sings with the Phoenix Children's Choir and our youngest auditioned today. Both also sing in our church choir and dd9 enjoys singing solos. In addition to singing they also enjoy chess, ballet and have a whole list of other extras they would like to do, but I won't add anymore to the week.
We are very eclectic in our homeschooling, now mostly using Charlotte Mason and AmblesideOnline. The girls are much happier with this style which makes for much less stress. My husband works alot of hours a week as a PCT with Phx Children's Hospital and as a nursing student, so all of the teaching is on my shoulders. In my spare time (?) I enjoy writing fiction, (sci-fi and fantasy). Spare time means while I am sitting at their practices.
I am hoping to meet some likeminded friends here!
