Default Is it thrush??? Help!

We took Evan to the doctor to get him checked out since he just had RSV last week (boys are doing great by the way) and I mentioned to her how my nipples have been burning, itching and when I let down it feels like needles. She actually checked out my breasts (Embarassing! But needed) and the baby's mouth and there were no signs that she could see.

So she gave me Nystatin liquid , the stuff that is used orally, and she said I could put it on my breasts. So HOW do I use it??? Is it ok for the baby while breastfeeding?

HELP!
