Usually you need to sign a release if a photography studio is going to use your image. I did this once, I wasn't paid for the photos but they had my permission to use the images.

I am a professional photographer, and habe been for years... this is NOT legal!!! You must have parental consent in the form of a model release to display a photo of a child under 18. We can actually get sued if we don't have one. That goes for internt use, advertising, publications, etc. Yes, we own the rights to our images (which is why copying them, even on your own home computer, is illegal), but we still can't display the image without permission.

I have parents sign the permission slip beforehand - perhaps you signed something similiar and didn't realize it??
