Default It is becoming no longer worth the hassle!

I am experiencing all of the problems that many of us are having!!!
My stores have always been great about handling coupons and ECB'S up unitl now.........
Problem 1
Earlier this week I went to return a $14.00 item that I used ECB to pay for, (I rarely return anythining) that I purchased along with about $30.00 worth of other itmes. I had used EBC and a $4 of $20 and MFG coupons. I paid the balance after everything came off and I paid $1.91 using a CVS gift card. She said that I could only be refunded the $1.91!!!!!!! I said it is to go on a money card because I used ECBS She kept saying that she cannot refund coupons. I said that they are ECB which is my money! I had her call CS. Sure enough, they said to put on a money card. She did not know how to do it, but they helped her. 15 minutes later it was resovled. Let's get it figured out folks?????
Problem 2
I went today to use a $10 of $50 email at a store 2. I purchsed the nuts offer , hersheys candy, febreeze offer, and the 20.00 P & G offer. My total was 57.00 I had MFG coupons. I gave them those to use after the 10 off 50. I have slightly over $50.00 in ECB to use. I had about $32.000 left to use for ECB. It beeped after the second one. They called over a mgr ( I think it was a shift supervisor) She said that I could not use these, as it says that it has exceeded the coupon limit. I was very nice and said that everyone here is nice and I like shopping here, but the last month as been a real headache to use these and check out. She said that she could not do anything. I mentioned what am I supposed to do with the $50.00 ECB that are going to expire next week. I mentioned that the ad says that you can earn $90.00 in bucks this week, that's where these come from. What good is it if you can not use them in the future before they expire????????? I felt like she thought that I was doing someting wrong by being insistant. They kept trying different ECB and finnaly enough went through to use as many as I wanted, but she was clearly somewhat annoyed. I really do not understand how cashiers get annoyed when you are shopping at thier store and just following the rules of the program??. It is not my fault that the ECB'S are not being accepted by thier system. What about offering good customer service?
The problem seems to be compounded because the ECB'S look like and act like coupons, but they are not!!! I hate to complain to the manager, but I cannot continue to worry and wonder each time I shop if I can or cannot use them before they expire??? It is no fun at all.
How hard can this be to communicate to the stores on how to use them and resolve problems if they occur???
Problem 3
The same thing happened at another store on my Moms card and visit. She mentioned that CS has asked her to inform the store to add the ECB'S up as one ECB and enter it in the system that way. They said that loss preveniton could be an issue and that CS and loss prevention are not always in agreeement as to what is to be done?????
I am sure that many of you have similar stories! thanks for listening to me!
What should we do about this???

I feel your pain. Been there and am continuing to do that. I am still waiting for over a week to hear from my local District Manager at my request. I have had to pay $$ OOP when I had many, many ECBs in hand. I finally got a manager to call CS and they walked him through adding them all up and forcing them though. Now, I am down to just a few ecbs, but they still are beeping and giving false messages, ie wrong card, or too many coupons. I, too am frustrated and feel like shopping elsewhere. Not sure what else to do, but take each purchase and cross my fingers and pray they will get at least one ecb to go through. I am open to any ideas, too.

Perhaps a complaint letter to the President of CVS is in order?

Default No problems here!

My heart goes out to all of you who are experiencing these problems. I live in Edmond, Oklahoma and have NEVER experienced any of this. I have used several ECBs, coupons, and the email $$ off offers and other $$ off coupons in one transaction and have never been beeped at. The cashiers are extremely patient and even when I offer to go to the back of the line for my second transaction, they just call someone else to check. After hearing all of your horror stories, sounds like I need to write a letter to corporate about my store commending them for such excellent customer service!!

wow. i hope you guys are taking the same amount of time in writing to CVS about your bad experiences. I would do that first. The more they hear from you the better. I am just AMAZED that they havent fixed the ECB error yet.

Default No more ECB?

Hi, I hope this info is okay under this thread. How do you post a new topic? Actually I am writing because a few days ago I went to CVS and spoke to a manager. He told me that due to all the problems with ECB that CVS is probably going to due away with them (also no new promotions such as rebates, etc) He said that this is due to people abusing the system, such as having multiple cards, using coupons that don't match with the item, expired coupons, fraudulant coupons, and people buying items with ECB and then returning them for cash on purpose, also he said people finding "glitches" in the ECB and getting more such as when it says limit one and people find out you can get 5. This is what the manager told me so I don't know how accurate the info is, but I figured I might as let everyone know what was told to me. Sorry to be the bearer of not good news.

I work for CVS, and i have heard the same thing, a shame that some fradulent people would do such a thing to ruin it for all of the good customers. But for the fradulent customers, they dont get away with that stuff with me because, nothing escapes my vigilance.

I would hate losing the ecb deals, but with all the problems I have been having spending my ecbs, I think maybe I would not miss the deals there so much. I have several Walgreens nearby. I have not shopped there much lately due to all the deals at CVS, but I would return to Walgreens if CVS stopped the ecb promotions.
Hopefully they will fix all the ecb issues and continue the program, otherwise, Oh well....
That is how I am feeling today. I love the deals there, but without the deals, there is no loyalty.

I doubt I could identify the managers at my local CVSs (I guess that's a good sign, huh?), so I certainly have no inside track, but I doubt ECBs would have survived this long if they weren't PROFITABLE. I also bet Walgreens wouldn't be following suit ("register rewards") if they weren't profitable. Would any of us ever spend $4.49 for a bottle of bodywash if it wasn't "free"? Now, how many people do you know that would get the "free" body wash and then lose the ECB, let it expire, let the "beeps" win, or, better yet, spend it to get a "discount" on a more expensive overpriced item? If the people you know are anything like the people I know, the answer is "lots".
