I've got a horse...
and it's name is CHARLIE!!! In both of my legs...constantly. Walking and massaging don't help one bit! Any unconventional suggestions?!?

I suffered from these, and restless leg syndrome as well. What worked (at times) for me was to take a VERY hot shower, then wrap my legs in ACE bandages snuggly. I would also stretch out on the couch, so the balls of my feet touched the arm of the couch, and push against the arm, stretching my legs. That helped some too.

I'd take a warm bath. I have restless leg syndrome even when I'm not pg and it's maginified significantly when I am.
I had leg cramps when I was pg with DS and for both conditions warm baths and heating pads were my best friend!

Eat bananas - you need potassium - honestly, it helps.

I was going to say the exact same thing! It really and truly does help, and if for some reason you don't care for bananas, try some V8 Splash juice. It has a lot of potassium in it.

Muscle cramps can also be a sign of dehydration! I was told by my midwife to drink plenty of fluids before bed (which is when many women get them the most). However, you are then possibly stuck getting up in the middle of the night to pee! The bananas and V8 Splash are also a good idea! And when you are actually having one, you can minimize the pain and make it shorter by trying to move your feet around as much as possible during the pain. My midwife said that if doing all these things doesn't help, to tell her about it and maybe there is something medical relief that can be done.

Whatever you do, don't point your toes!! When you lay down at night, flex your feet (pull your toes up toward your head). When you have the temptation to stretch, flex your feet again. And bananas...that really helps.
