Monday, February 18, 2008 was just a normal day. I had decided to put myself on house rest and start my leave from work the week before.
I went to my 36 week Dr. appt in the morning. Everything was great with the babies. My blood pressure was a little on the high side. I went home everything was fine.
Later in the afternoon I went for my non stress test. The babies passed the test with no problems. The nurse was conserned because my blood pressure was going up and up. Luckily my Dr. was already at the hospital and wanted bloodwork. It turns out I was preeclamptic (toxemia) and my levels were going out of control. It was coming on fast and already effecting my liver and kidneys. They had no choice, but to take the babies.
My husband rushed to the hospital and they did the c-section. It went very well.
Jason James was born at 7:57 pm ET at 5 lbs 9 oz. and Sarah Elizabeth was born at 7:58 pm at 6 lbs 4 oz. Both babies came out screaming. They both had a little trouble breathing at first. They were on oxyen for 24 hrs. By Thursday they were breathing on their own and doing great.
We stayed in the hospital until Friday. We all 3 went home together. It was so wonderful.
I am really enjoying being a mom to twins.

So glad that you received prompt medical attention, so all 3 of you are healthy and happy.
Are you BF or bottle feeding?
