So what does everyone think of the acceptance speech for best reality show at the emmys where the winner Kathy Griffin said that Jesus had nothing to do with her receiving the award, and then she told Jesus to "suck it". ?

Suddenly she's on talk shows, all over youtube. Wow, big boost for her career. An emmy and now she's the champion of the charge against all those Christian right wingers who are just so narrow minded and oppressive. That would mean anyone who is offended or disagrees with her.

Wait a minute.

Thats MY God she dissed. Deliberately. That's ME she insulted.

I'm an Episcopalian. In the Diocese of Newark, no less. Last time I checked, we're still Christians.

In an interview on Larry King, she insults the cast and CREW of The Miracle Theater in Tennessee. They took out a full page ad and mounted an online petition stating that enough is enough. It is no more acceptable to insult Christians or Jesus than it is to insult any other religion. She snorted at this, and said well, if the CREW is represented, then there are probably some gay people in there, and they oughta wise up.

I guess she thinks if you are gay you cannot be Christian. (Trust me, the Episcopal Diocese of Newark does NOT agree with that one!) But hey, she's the darling of the liberal media at the moment, so that makes it all right. If an Evangelical says you can't be gay and Christian, well, they are just judgemental and hateful. But a vulgar entertainer says so, and by golly, if you're offended or object, well, you are just against free speech, you right wing nut job you. Or you oughta wise up.

Well the backlash against the Christian troupe from Tennessee on Youtube is enormous. Also against Catholic spokespersons and anyone who spoke against this. And now there are copycat petitions to save Kathy Griffin from the Christian Right.

So here it is folks. All the Episcopalians, Anglicans, Lutherans, Methodists, Presbyterians (PCUSA) , United Church of Christ (UCC), Metropolitan Community Church members, AME church, everyone in all branches of the Roman Catholic and Eastern Rite churches, regardless of your background, your politics, your race, you sexual orientation - anyone who knows reverence at the name of Jesus, anyone who works for justice and freedom and peach in His name, anyone who takes an insult to his name personally because His name gives meaning to our daily lives- well, we're all just a bunch of fundamentalist hate mongering blithering idiots. Especially if we don't live in or near a major city. We've now joined the Baptists, Assembly of God, Mormons, Church of Christ, Foursquare churches, as now we are just all one big stupid family. After all, we love Jesus and the power of His name.

Now how's that for Christian unity, I ask you?
