John Frieda Deal and Rounding up
Hi All
I bought 4 John Frieda's today, and the total was 19.96, 4 cents shy of the magic 20.00...Has anyone else done this deal yet, and if so, did your extra bucks print two days later?
Some people are saying yes, and some are saying no
I'm just wondering if I need to buy another item now, for the 10.00 to print out
Thanks!

I did the same thing and waited the 2 days. No ECB's. Called CS, they said to take receipt back to store and they will give me credit without further purchase. They no longer round up and print out 2 days later as they did during the transition period and before. She said they do still round up, but it must be handled in the store - in other words, if it is not at the end of your receipt ask immediately for the round up and an ECB.
This is for now - I can't imagine it will stay this way. My manager handed me $10 out of the register. If I were unscrupulous I could buy another item this week and it would print me another $10 because when she handed me the $10, it did not change what the computer has recorded for my purchases & ECB's. That is one of the reasons why I think they will change this policy.
Hope this helps.

I dont know how the stores are expected to give us an ECB, when its up to the system/register. If they suggested we be given a Gift card, I could see that, but dont know how quick the store would be able to figure it out, or to even do it.
I'm gonna try to get a raincheck for the ECB or whatever on Out of stock items, like the Aqua Shave Balm, but at one store this week I was pretty much told I was out of luck. Will have to get a manager next time. Making sure of course, I have lots of time.....How late is customer service open till, anyway?????

I think the stores have received emails telling them how to deal with oos ecb items. I asked today at my local store (played dumb) what I should do since they never got the Aqua Shave Balm. The store clerk I asked told me that they would issue me a rain check with zero as the sale price since they couldn't force an ecb to print after the sale period. She was very well informed and so were the cashiers when I checked out. I was very pleasantly surprised. My local store is really coming along nicely.

I can't believe the manager at your store did that. You're soo lucky that you had a dumb manager. Obviously, you could just get another item if you wanted and get 10ECB. Even if the manager was willing to give you $10 from the register, she should of done it in the form of a CVS moneycard. Wow. I wish it was me.

It's good to know that your store know what they are doing, because many stores have idiots as managers. It is true that is how it works because I used to work at CVS and if a customer wanted to buy an item that would give them a certain ECB back but we didn't have it in stock, we would subtract the ECB from the sale price and that would be the price listed on the raincheck. Example, Gilette Razor on sale for 8.99, buy it and u get 6ECB. If we don't have it in stock, we will write a raincheck for it for 2.99.
What's funny is that let's say that we have a raincheck for Softsoap for $0. Since there's a limit of 5 for the month, even though we end up paying nothing, we will still get 4.49 ECB back.
Also, the raincheck quantity should be written for 1 only because the ad states limit 1 even though we know otherwise.

Thats if you get them while the promo is still on and the system gives you the ECB's. But, Wow!!! My stores just give the out of luck line. Gonna see what they do tomorrow.
thanx!
