Default Just Had Our Water Turned Off - Accidently

Always when you least expect it, the water was suddenly off all over the house.

DS#1 was in the shower, of course.

Looked out the front yard and the back yard - nothing going on.

I called DH.
I called city hall and talked to the water dept.
They knew nothing about it.
They looked in their computer - "Yes, they've paid their water bill."
The water man would be out to our house directly.

I told DS#1 we had plenty of bottled water in a gallon jug in the garage as well as some individual bottled water. We could just rinse him off w/ those.

Well, I look out our front door again and there is a man with a wrench working on the ground. I asked him what he was doing. He told me he was working on nextdoor neighbor's bathroom and needed their water
off. He had accidently turned ours off instead.

I told him our house has an inside whole house shut-off valve by the furnace. He said he'd looked and the neighbors did not have one there, so he turned off the outside water.....except it was ours!

Grrrrr! At least it is back on now.
